Santa Clara / Seattle, 30 April 2024: As we gear up to push the boundaries of what's possible in the GenAI universe, we are thrilled to announce the return of Benben Li as Head of Product and the appointment of Haoxiang Li as Chief Scientist — two pivotal moves set to accelerate our mission of innovating at the intersection of technology and creativity.
In the fast-evolving realm of Generative AI, the supply of visual generation technologies is expanding, offering increasingly sophisticated results. With outstanding developments in the sector reflected in recent papers and products, the industry recognizes that despite significant advancements, the exhaustive knowledge and creative workflows of each domain and creator cannot be fully replicated by multimodal LLMs just yet. To sufficiently serve a sophisticated human-in-the-loop scenario, we'll need vertical applications atop model layers. In contexts like e-commerce marketing content creation, the fusion of human creativity with GenAI capabilities promises a 10x increase in efficiency, harnessing the power of large image models to enhance productivity.
Benben's trajectory in the tech industry is noteworthy. As our newly-appointed Head of Product, she isn’t just rejoining our org-charts; she's returning to the roots where she co-developed our flagship product, AirBrush, alongside CEO Mingyang, back to 2016. Her strategic vision has been honed through her work in e-commerce giants like Shopify and Weee!, where she deeply understood the merchants and consumer needs. Benben’s comeback coincides with the launch of Vmake.ai, a GenAI-native product designed to revolutionize content creation productivity for e-commerce.
Complementing our technology leadership, Haoxiang Li steps in as Chief Scientist. With a rich history of contributing to core Photoshop features in Adobe Research, Haoxiang brings a wealth of knowledge in AI-driven creative tools. Further extending his expertise at Aibee and the Wormpex AI Research Lab, Haoxiang has remained as the vanguard of applying computer vision in practical applications. Aligned with Pixocial's vision of "last mile GenAI applications", he joins us full-time, eager to enhance the AI backbone of Vmake.ai among other pioneering products.
